Meet your Worth Township officials
Jim Baldwin - Trustee
Jim was appointed to the Worth Township Advisory Board in 2008 to fill a vacancy. In 2010, he was elected to the advisory board where he served as board secretary and board president. In 2014, Jim was elected as Worth Township Trustee. Along his duties as trustee, he also serve as vice-chairperson on the Whitestown Fire Board and am a member of the HMMPL Expansion Steering Committee. Jim has lived in Boone County most of his life and he is a 1981 graduate of Lebanon High School. Jim is a Manufacturing/Project Engineer for C.F. Roark Welding and Engineering in Brownsburg, IN. Jim and his wife have two teenage sons and he has lived in Worth Township since 2005. |
Shelby Hasz - Board President
Shelby moved to Boone County in March of 2018. She was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana. She graduated from Speedway High School in 2006 and from the University of Indianapolis in 2011. Her husband is former active duty Air Force and was stationed in Rapid City, South Dakota for several years. Following his last term, they returned to Indianapolis. Shelby has formerly been a science teacher in both Rapid City, SD and Speedway, IN. Currently, she stays at home with her youngest two children. Shelby lives in Whitestown with her husband and four children. She currently serves on the Perry-Worth PTO as a Co-Vice President and Volunteer Coordinator. In her spare time, she serves as an Educational Service Representative for PaperPie Learning (formerly Usborne Books & More). This is Shelby's first elected position and she hopes to continue to serve the residents of Worth Township for many years to come. |
Mike Hancock - Board Secretary
Mike attended and participated in township meetings for several years before being appointed by caucus in July of 2011 to fill a vacancy created by a resignation. Mike then ran and won reelection in 2014 and 2018 and has served as the board secretary since 2012. Throughout the course of his time on the advisory board, he has also served the community in various roles including President of the Boone County Humane Society, President of the Whitestown lions club, VP of the Whitestown historical preservation commission, Whitestown police commission member, Whitestown neighborhoods committee member, board member for the Boone County Historical Society, and photographer for the Whitestown fire department. Prior to his time on the Worth township advisory board, Mike was unanimously appointed by the Whitestown town council to be their representative on the Boone County board of zoning appeals. Mike has lived in Boone County his entire life, and his ancestors were among the first settlers in the area that would become Whitestown. Mike is a 1987 graduate of Lebanon High School, and holds a degree in electronics engineering. Mike is married and has two children. Mike has many interests, not the least of which is local history, which is why he created a virtual museum relating to his hometown in an effort to preserve and promote our history and heritage. Will Jacob - Board Member
Will has lived in Boone County his entire life in Whitestown, Indiana with his parents and younger brother. He graduated from University High School in 2021 and is currently a student at Butler University where he studies biology ad neuroscience. Will hopes to go on to medical school to pursue a degree as a doctor and researcher. Will currently works as a research assistant at Butler as well as a horse handler doing equine therapy for children with special needs at Children’s Theraplay. Will is the fourth generation in his family to serve in Boone country politics. This is his first elected position and he hopes to follow in his family’s footsteps as a lifetime public servant. |
